Crock Pot Whole Chicken

This is a great way to cook a chicken, so tender and moist! This is one of my most requested recipes because it’s so delicious!

Crock Pot Chicken

I love making chicken in the crock pot because it always turns out perfect! This is a great recipe that uses lots of spices to give your chicken a nice flavor. If you have time you can prep your chicken the night before, put the spices on and put it in the fridge over night. If you are in a hurry or didn’t plan ahead you can definitely skip this step and you will still have a delicious chicken. I skip this step a lot because I usually don’t plan ahead or think to do this the night before, but if you want some extra flavor I would take that extra step to let those spices sink in overnight. This would also save you some time in the morning.

This makes a wonderful meal served with a full plate of veggies. You can even serve some mashed cauliflower with butter or gravy on top! My kids love having mashed cauliflower, instead of potatoes, with lots of butter on it. It’s just so yummy! When I started the Ketogenic diet, I actually didn’t eat much cauliflower, but now we serve it quite a bit, especially when it is prices low at the store. I find since I started drinking Keto/os eating healthy is so much easier and so much better! Who knew you could crave veggies?

This is a really easy meal to make if you are following a low carb or Ketogenic diet. If you leave it in the crock pot for the day, then the spices and chicken combination will smell wonderful by supper time! Overall this is a great recipe because the chicken turns out so juicy! I actually used two small chickens for mine. You should plan accordingly, based upon the size of your crock pot.

Crock pot chicken is also a great idea for Thanksgiving or Christmas if you are cooking a small chicken or turkey. I promise that you will have a very moist and tasty chicken for your dinner.

Potatoes are fine unless you are following a ketogenic diet. If you’re doing Keto then cauliflower is a better choice.

Tried once I used celery instead of onion( didn’t have one). Huge hit making it again tomorrow because my very picky 10 year old asked for it.

I have done this recipe many times. I also throw in the bones and the chicken wings along with an onion , carrot and celery in the crock pot..fill,with water or any vegetable water and let it cook for 12 hours on low overnight. Cool and strain and you will have chicken broth that can be frozen and used whenever your recipe calls for broth.

I’m also on a keto diet lifestyle. I’ve lost 22 pounds in 2 weeks and my blood sugar (I’m a diabetic) has gone down as well as my blood pressure. Wish everyone knew this diet. Back on point: I just put my chicken in the Crock-Pot. Let you know how it turns out!

BY FAR …. the B E S T crockpot chicken ever!!! Thank you for posting this recipe. I made it exactly as described. Just finished shredding the meat off my Farmer’s Market SC pasture raised Happy Chicken, it was so hard not to nibble during the post-cooked process. YUM! Anyway, this is a worthy post on my FB and will be a staple meal I’ll make not only at home but also when I visit family. Twas sooooo EASY to make and it neared 8 hours of cooking time, the meat was falling off the bones but very moist and savory. And the skin is sooooo delicious so not wasting any of it. The bones are now cooking with another carcass in crockpot for a delightful home-made chix broth. Hubby gave it a thumbs up too! Again, with many thanks! – BellaRose
