Chocolate Peanut Butter Fat Bombs For a Keto Diet

If you are following a Ketogenic diet fat bombs are amazing snacks! Chocolate Peanut Butter Fat Bombs are divine! Low carb goodness!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Fat Bombs

Since I started following a ketogenic lifestyle, fat bombs have been one of my favorite go-to snacks. My other favorite snack is my No Sugar Keto Fudge which is also amazing! I switch between the two depending on which one I have made or just which one I prefer that day. They are super convenient snacks because both can be kept in the freezer so they last a long time. Most times, I usually make a double batch and that way I have plenty and don’t have to take the time to make them too often.

They are very easy to make and take almost no time to prepare. Once they are made you will have lots of keto friendly snacks and you won’t have to worry about going off your diet plan when you get hungry or you’re craving something sweet! These fat bombs take care of both the chocolate and peanut butter craving you may be experiencing. These are also great for on the go snacks. Perfect for when you suddenly get hungry but aren’t home and don’t want to fall into that fast food dilemma. Simply pop one or two in a baggie before you leave the house and they make a great snack on the road.

Macros for the entire recipe:

Calories: 1280
Fat: 122g
Protein: 36g
Carbs: 20g

(For macros per fat bomb just divide by however many individual fat bombs you make)

My Keto lifestyle!

Since I switched over to a ketogenic lifestyle I am so happy! I feel fantastic and I have an abundance of energy! I also drink Keto OS which helps me have amazing mental focus and is really life changing for my mood and energy! I feel the best I have in my entire life! I am almost never hungry and small snacks like these ones keep me going all day long.

Thats the thing everyone makes them different sizes, so the macros are for the entire recipe and then you just divide by how many you get to get the total for each one.

I use mini muffin tins with the papers. I get 11 or 12 out of 1 recipe. I usually add a touch more coconut oil than it calls for.

These were so good, that I ate three in one day! I felt so guilty because they tasted like real sugar! I used Swerve, they tasted gritty, and I few ther 1/4C was way too much. I’ll try again and probably use one teaspoon of Swerve. I’ll put the Swerve in a food processor this time..thank you, they are a Godsend ❤️

1 tsp of confectioners swerve has 3 carbs, so 1/4 cup in each layer is 72 carbs. Did I calculate that incorrectly since you’re saying the entire recipe has only 20 carbs?

Yes, swerve is made of erythritol so while it does contain carbs in the form of alcohol sugar, you body can’t digest it. The effective net carbs from swerve is 0 as your body can’t break down and digest it.

The recipe makes 12 for me, so if you subtract the fibre of 11.2 g in the total recipe from the 20 g of carbs each 1 is <1 g net carb

FOR THE FOLKS WONDERING ABOUT HOW MUCH POWDERED STEVIA TO USE- 1 Tablespoon in each layer is quite enough for me (you can do 1+1.5 or 1.5 in each, at the most). I couldn’t get a straight answer to this from either the recipe (which is otherwise excellent) or the 1 million comments after it, so I used good ol’ trial and error.

Swerve is like sugar so it’s a bigger amount. However you can adjust the amount to your liking or you can even use no Swerve at all. They will be more bitter because of the dark chocolate if you dont use any Swerve (or other sweetener). I have tried both ways and enjoy them either way. But I do like with Swerve.

No Swerve measures like sugar so you will want to use 1/8 – 1/4 of a cup depending on how sweet you like it. You can add some and then taste it to see if it’s enough.

The author isn’t very straight-forward enough when people are asking about the tsp vs cup. If you use liquid, you need to use a lot less product than the powder/granules. If you were using something like Swerve or Xylitol or Erythirtol, then you’ll need to make that amount 1/4 cup to equal the same amount of sweetness.

You wouldn’t like them if it was 1/4 cup of liquid stevia.. it’d be way too gross to eat xD

Marsha, perhaps try stirring the erythritol into the melted coconut oil before adding the other ingredients, that may help it dissolve.

You can put the granular swerve in a food processor to make it more fine. I too only have the granular swerve and didn’t realize the cibfectioners was better for this recipe until later on

I just recently started using Swerve it tastes WAY better then Splenda. I now prefer it over Stevia also as many of these products are now adding fillers that can rise blood sugars. I’m getting ready to try a product called Stevia Glycerite and hope it tasts ok. Its expensive but goes a very long way.

If you do decide to “take them with you, on the road in a baggie” make sure you put between ice packs. If not when at room temp they melt into one big blob. Mine came out looking exactly like the picture above, until I left them on the counter for about 1/2 hour after they were refrigetated…what a mess. Otherwise very good.

Okay, so I am a little confused. It says 1/4 tsp (with 1/4 cup used for Swerve). Does using 1/4 cup of the powdered sugar the same “sweetness” as the 1/4 tsp of (I am assuming) liquid sweetener?

I did 1/4 tsp of my powdered and it was very bitter.. but using 1/4 cup of my powdered just seems like a LOT of it. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Feel free to adjust based on your personal taste. It won’t effect the purpose of eating a fat bomb by increasing or decreasing the sweetener as long as its all natural.

I used Laura Scudders pb and Ghirardelli cocoa powder. Also going to try almond butter in the chocolate part, and maybe butter too. I love coconut but it might be good if the pb layer and chocolate layer had different flavors going on for some contrast. These are AMAZING. I’ll be making them every week for me and my hubby! These are dangerously good. I’ve made them twice with the only addition being cinnamon to the peanut butter layer. Use the silicone mold, they came out looking like perfect miniature Reese’s cups, my recipe made 26. I am going to break from them and my other go to sweet treat (the three ingredient peanut butter cookie) because my weight loss has stalled even tho I have been faithful to intermittent fasting daily and ketogenic as well. I read that even an artificial sweetener (such as xylitol that I use) can disrupt or slow down progress. Do you have an opinion on sweeteners? BTW the bombs are the bomb. Have to hold myself to two per day!!!

Today I got creative and I mixed up a mint topping for my leftover chocolate layers (think peppermint patty) and it was delicious! I used 3 tbs coconut oil (melted), 1/8 cup xylitol, 1/2 tsp mint extract, and 1/4 tsp vanilla. I did not taste the PB in the chocolate layer when topped by the mint layer, in case you are wondering. It was really good.

Yum! Finally for my sweet tooth..I was OK with Atkins pb cups, but everyone saying don’t use Atkins products.. I used Swerve confectioners.. Was too lazy for muffin tin so I just put in a small Casserole dish and then cut with butter knife.. Tiny pieces, around 30 so will just have two probably…

These were very good but my husband didn’t care for the coconut taste. what kind of coconut oil do you use? I read several posts here but didn’t see anyone ask if you could substitute butter for the oil and would it still be 2 tbls? Thanks so much🙂 We are really trying to find a good dessert. We’ve been doing keto for 2 months and need something sweet so this is perfect (minus the coconut taste)

Oh my gosh, I did 1 tbls butter and 1 tbls coconut oil and it was perfect. I have made these 3 times now and I get 10 out of the recipe. Amazing and so satisfying for 2 carbs per piece. Thank you for this recipe. I was worried when he said he didn’t like the coconut flavor so this fixed the problem.

Refined coconut oil has no flavor but the same fat composition so it should work as a substitute if flavor of coconut is a problem.

You can. Just make sure that if it is a liquid, make sure to use the 1/4 tsp as 1/4 cup is mainly for powdered/granule type of sugar substitutes. The liquids are very concentrated which means less is usually more.

Thank you, thank you! These are AWESOME!!! I think these taste like something from a gourmet chocolate shop. I used the Swerve confectioners product and Thrive Market’s Organic Cacao Powder. A couple of these and a cup of decaf coffee early afternoon and I’m in a very happy place.

If you use Swerve, it’s actually 80 grams of carbs. I wish I would have realized this before I made them. Doesn’t really fit the macros

Swerve is erythritol. Your body can’t digest erythritol so it all gets excreted in your urine. None of those carbs are absorbed by your body. You should research stuff before spouting off. I’m not incompetent you know.

I have made these with liquid stevia and they were awesome! I didn’t have liquid this time so I substituted 3/4 cup powdered sugar substitute off brand to swerve but same ingredients. I could not get the powdered stevia to dissolve. I even microwaved it and used a hand mixer but it was still grainy! What did I do wrong?

3/4 cup of powdered sugar substitute is probably too much. In the instructions it says 1/4 cup, which is why is most likely why it didn’t dissolve properly 🙂

I decided to make these on a whim without shopping, so I had to make some substitutes…I used a stick and a half of range free butter instead of the oil and regular granule stevia instead of the liquid (~1.5 tsp). SO GOOD, TOTAL KETO DIET LIFE SAVER!

Made these today. So good, it feels like cheating. Used a mini muffin pan, and it made 12 total for 1.6 carbs each. Swapped the coconut oil for butter in the peanut butter half – done with all my sweets tasting like coconut. Also swapped the stevia for sweet n low (saccharin). the anti-synthetic sweetener folks will hate that, but I absolutely can no longer tolerate the stevia after-taste. Used less than a packet of sweet n low and no after taste. Thanks for posting this recipe. Will def make again.

There is no bitter aftertaste from the swerve sweetner either 🙂 And I used refined coconut oil as it has no coconut smell or taste! I am just so thankful to be able to satisfy my sweet tooth without the carbs and sugar.
