This is what you do when your kids are eating tacos on Taco Tuesday and you’re following a ketogenic lifestyle! These are so delicious!
It’s Taco Tuesday and this is what’s for supper! When I make tacos for the kids I get lucky and get this amazing keto friendly version! Romaine tacos have to be one of my favorite meals! I always loved tacos, but I find these are so much yummier! Romain tacos are the bomb! And trust me, you will not miss those taco shells!
The trick is the purchase a bigger size romaine lettuce so that you have some big lettuce leaves to wrap up your tacos. The bigger the better! Yes, you can also use iceberg lettuce but romaine is better for you, so I usually choose romaine if it’s available. Then you fill them will all that taco goodness! Top these with your favorite taco toppings and enjoy!
These are great for a gathering because you can put all the dishes, filled with toppings, out. Just prewash and cut the lettuce and let people serve themselves! If you are having a party for kids and adults you can actually give the adults a low carb version and make taco shells available for the kiddos. I love going some where and having a low carb version available!
Don’t forget to check out my homemade taco seasoning, it’s much tastier then the store bought packets and much better for you. Homemade taco seasoning doesn’t have all those chemical additives. Did you ever look at it when it comes out of the pouch? It’s almost glowing orange! Scary stuff! Don’t feed that to your kids! You can mix up a big batch of homemade and it will last you for a few meals, it keeps well in an air tight jar and it only takes a few minutes to make.
