Who doesn’t love fried cabbage? This is definitely a crowd pleaser and it’s low carb and yummy! Take this to your next pot luck and everyone will be asking for the recipe, it’s that good!
I make this all the time because it compliments my low carb, ketogenic lifestyle really well. I love cooking with cabbage and the sausage makes it so tasty. It’s funny because before my ketogenic diet began, I really didn’t cook with cabbage at all but now I love it and use it quite frequently in various meals. I love cooking meals in a huge pot because often times I double the recipe and make enough for a crowd. I love leftovers too because then that means you don’t have to cook the next day. I often freeze leftovers as well. It’s handy to have some cooked meals in the freezer ready to go. This recipe is diabetic friendly, low carb, Pruvit approved meal plan, and keto friendly!
The kids love this one too, especially the older ones. Makes a great family meal! I find as they get older they are open to trying more foods like cabbage which they didn’t like when they were younger. It’s great to try new foods and experiment with new tastes.

Fried Cabbage With Sausage
- 1/2 cup Cup butter
- 1 Small head cabbage chopped
- 1 Small onion chopped
- 1 Lb smoked sausage sliced into round pieces
- 1 Can diced tomatoes or rotel tomatoes 15 ounce
- 1/2 Tsp salt
- 1/2 Tsp pepper
