The original recipe for bierock was a yeast dough pastry pocket with savoury filling. This version is modified to be low carb and has no bread in it, but you won’t miss the bread! It is a delicious low carb, Keto friendly version with lots of flavor.
I cook with cabbage quite a bit now, its is so cheap to buy and I love it!! It can be used in so many recipes and with so many different flavors and spices!
Low carb unstuffed bierock keeps well in the fridge for leftovers, the next day the flavors will have marinated together and it will taste even better! It also freezes well if you want to make a big pot of it and freeze some for another time. The hot sauce and cheese is optional and any other spices can be added as well. I recommend the cheese for sure as it makes it such a tasty dish! Any variety of cheese is ok to use (I used cheddar though). I also made it without the caraway seeds (but the recipe would have you add 2 tsp with the cabbage if you want to add them back).
Also a great dish to take to a pot luck or get together, it will be a huge hit!
